BOTH Newcastle and Tottenham are having talks about STIKER.

Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly continuing to pursue Cenk Tosun .Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur have held talks with Besiktas this week over a possible move for striker Cenk Tosun.

Tosun, 26, impressed with Gaziantepspor following a 2011 move from Eintracht Frankfurt, scoring 44 goals in 122 games for the Turkish side to earn a switch to Besiktas in 2014.

After a disappointing first season, in which he scored just nine times, Tosun has been a sensation for Besiktas, having racked up 41 goals across the last two seasons.

This term, Tosun has smashed nine goals in just 14 games, with four goals in four Champions League outings as his stock continues to rise – and Premier League teams are unsurprisingly taking notice of the Turkish international.

Turkish newspaper Haberturk report that Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur are both keen on Tosun, and spoke to Besiktas about a possible deal for the striker this week.

Besiktas president Fikret Orman allegedly attended a WyScout seminar in London this week, and representatives from Newcastle and Spurs took the opportunity to speak about moving for Tosun in 2018.

Both teams were allegedly told that he will cost €20million (£17.7million), meaning that there is at least a possibility of the goal machine moving on in January.

Whilst Spurs may fancy adding him to Harry Kane and Fernando Llorente, Newcastle’s need is far more pressing. Rafael Benitez’s men have blown hot and cold in attack, and added a regular goalscorer such as Tosun would be a major boost, especially with question marks over Aleksandar Mitrovic and Dwight Gayle, whilst Joselu has yet to prove himself in a Magpies shirt.

Whether Newcastle would be able to pay £17.7million – which would be a club-record signing – remains to be seen, and Benitez may be hoping that the club’s takeover goes through, enabling him to bid for Tosun.
